Megaman 9... Hmm... Storyline: MegaMan once again for some obscure reason has to defeat Wily to stop his generic reign of mild terror. But Zero kills MegaMan and ProtoMan at the end. Probably. *points at "Dr.Wily Fails at Life"* *Maverick Zero* The first victim of the robot apocalypse will be Right!I expect the story line to revolve around that line. Of course, it's purely fan-based... *Cosmo* or iiiiis it? Point is, Dr. Wily & Dr. Light both die. *glances at video* BRING ON SPIKED-WALL MAN!!!! Actually that's The first victim of the robot apocalypse says what!I like messing things up, =D which is why i'll love this game =D.

Well, I would guess Zero kills Wily, but Light dies creating X. Like on the "Day of Sigma".

You think that was a clone of Light, or they cloned Megaman and upgraded him to X?

Pretty much, yeah.
I mean, once Megaman's job was done, Light should be near to expiration already. He probably shut Megaman down (and Roll as well) and cloned himself in case he couldn't finish Megaman X because of the threat that Zero might still be alive somewhere.
Then, right after Light dies, Zero rebuilds himself (like always) and starts the robot apocalypse. Then in a few years, the lab collapses leaving ruins. Only 1 capsule out of a few survives in Light's lab and Zero is still out wreaking havoc. In Dr. Cain's desperation to save mankind from the Mavericks, he starts the excavation of Light's lab, yata, yata, yata...

Light built X seperately from Rockman. Also, please keep in mind that Zero was built by Wily and locked away in some cave lab until Sigma found him.

Also, please keep in mind that Zero was built by Wily and locked away in some cave lab until Sigma found him. But who said that someone couldn't have just beaten him and sealed him there before the reign of Sigma as the Maverick Hunter leader? Also remember that the Megaman world is confusing if you haven't played the timeline and this just happens to be the Missing Link. No one knows yet, but I just can't help myself from writing short fanfics like those.

"Maybe what will take place will be a formula between both the Day of Sigma and the Apocalypse, or maybe even the Crash and Bass theory. Day of Sigma: Simply, it states that Wily made a final assault on Light's HQ right when he was about to finish X's design. So Light hid X from the world, because the world would not be ready for the Reploids. Wily hid Zero away because he wanted to to destroy Megaman if he lasted up through to the future and implanted the Zero virus in him to cause Wily's brand of generic evil to spread through to the future. This turned into the Maverick virus, and did cause a lot of panic. Apocalypse: This one states that Doctor Light was done with X by the end of the seventh game, but decided to keep him away for ethical testing. Wily had stolen X's design and built Zero, who he let out early, making him unstable and killed Wily and started going for all of Monstropolis had it not been for Megaman. Zero killed everyone of them including Doctor Light but was somehow stopped by Auto and capsulized again. The rest is history. Crash and Bass Theory: This is the least known theory, because the comic didn't get too far into production. But it's storyline is preserved here: www.fragile-minds.com/crashnbass/Zero isn't in this theory, because this time it was HE who got ethically tested while X was stolen. Read the comic for more details. Overall, I want one of those three to be published into Megaman 9." ...But then where does Megaman Zero fit into all this?

The Zero series is after the X series. Maybe an X9 could explain THAT now.
Actually, I think the Zero series explained what happened pretty nicely.

*finally gets up from seizing on the floor out of excitement* The Zero series is after the X series. Maybe an X9 could explain THAT now.Actually, I think the Zero series explained what happened pretty nicely. There's still that large gap between the Sigma/Maverick and Elf wars that's yet to be explained by either series. ...Oh, and of course, the reason why "Zero's" body changed so much. ...But that would be for an X9, not MM9, so we're drifting a little off-topic here.

My god, I'm hoping that's wrong. Leader boards? 8 bits? A cheap downloadable game? No story?
Ugh. Why can't we have something as beautiful as Megaman 8?
