It has greatly changed from how it was when I first came, when it was just starting. As far as I recall, there were only Kayorei, LE, Fay and Makenshi as far as OCTs went. This was well before I started taking challenges.
Now there are over ten forum-owning OCTs and several more on the "someone else" subforum.
I seriously miss the old times, where we were few and everybody knew everybody, and the n00biness, and thus, the need for Falcon Punches were minimal.
Many people have left already, Makenshi, Panzer, Shinryuu, pengy (who renamed himself and disappeared as suddenly as he reappeared) and a few more.
Truth be told, I wonder about the longevity of this community. First, Kayorei's almost eternal challenge-lock. I know it's because of the tourney, but still. Second, many other OCTs have been in a challenge lock for too long, just look at Lego. Third, truth be told, we're taking challenges in far too old games. There will come a time where everything will be done and there will be nothing interesting to do. Personally, I'd hate it if this community were to come to an end. It would mean most certainly we would disband and most probably never see each other again. I could easily do without many ANNOYING users, but I would seriously miss good people like Kayorei, Syaro and Vigarde.
Sometimes I wonder if this is just a new beginning or if it is indeed the beginning of the end...

Well, our only limit is the challenge giver's imaginations. But yeah, I do see where you're coming from.

A tad of thinking you've expressed there, I see. Though, I'm sure this must have been lingering in the back of everyone's heads, the veterans if anything.
I, myself, would hate to see this forum go, though with the tide of new games, we'll probably have to expand our selection and variety... 'Whatever is necessary for survival', as I like to put it.
Hmm... it would be nice to see the board encompass more of a 'Challenge-in-any-game' feel rather than our Megaman.EXE theme. Even if we don't have many Challenge Takers that would partake in other games, that doesn't mean we can't welcome newcomers in those fields with open arms.
Urh... at least, that's my two cents.

1. This looks vaguely like the thread Roserashi just had open and closed... Well, let's keep it more civil this time, alright? 2. It may seem like challenge taking is dying (I can already see some signs of the CT apocalypse on the board...) but we still have many other games to reach into. There are plenty of old games that we haven't touched, and there are several new games that can be added (Brawl being a notable example). All in all, as long as video games exist, Challenge Taking will exist in some shape or form. 3. Besides, even if challenge taking itself came to an end, would we really have to disband completely and shut down the forum? We could still stay together, talking about video games and such (it may even get rid of some of those "annoying" use--*shot*). Of course, if nothing else, there's still MSN. 4. I agree on missing the old days. ...Well, beyond the obvious parts I don't miss, anyway. At least Shinryuu and Pengy still pop in once in a while, but I can't even remember when the last time was that I saw Panzer...

"Though that what is expressed individually cannot be partaken. Or that at first it may not be accepted but eventually outliving everyone else." Oh, shut up. You're not helping. On my other note, I agree with Rekai's "Everyone's at eachother's throats" kind of attitude that's going on when all the n00bs started pouring in. I don't see the end of the CTs, (Not for a LONG while, anyway.) but I don't see anything getting any better in the near future.

I think I can see what you're thinking Rekai. I'd hate if the CT thing would end, even if I were to retire before it does. But worry not! If you read my previous thread, which was concidered spam by Chaos (seriously, what does chaos doesn't concider spam?) There are a lot of new OCTs and some of them actually take challenge in recent games. One example is Quirino with Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games. And I know there are a few CT who accept Brawl challenges too!

um... I forgot, when did the n00bs start pouring in? I would say the third quarter of last year...and you really aren't helping anybody. If you read my previous thread, which was concidered spam by Chaos (seriously, what does chaos doesn't concider spam?) Anything not posted by you. No, I closed it because of the flames starting. In case you didn't realize it, the " you spam" part was a JOK--...oh, right......

Okay, stop right there. Now you're driving the thread off-topic. If you're going to contribute something, then contribute.
If not, take it elsewhere.

Okay sorry there... "My thoughts on this would be that it be a shame this was to go, considering if we're gone the only idea of challenge taker would only be the kinds that are not considered a "challenge". But then again either we let only noobs take this site and just stop, or that we'd make a private server. But if we needed publicity, we'd make yet another website to take care of that." But of course the second option is in case that these forums are truly dead.

Well... sorry for that Chaos... guess I got a bit rude there...
Back to topic.
Like Chaos Mentioned earlier, there are several games that haven't been touched: Mario Kart DS Any Digimon World A lot of Final Fantasies (So far, only i,II and IV have been unlocked by some people) Any RPG in general Any Wi-Fi Compatible game in general Strategy games,Such as Warcraft. Even MMORPG could be challengeable, such as for duels or things like that. I could even think of some animal Crossing challenge!
Our real limit is our challenge issuer's originality!

I guess... but you guys are being waaaay too much optimistic.
Issuer imagination is something that's dying faster than Jigglypuffs smashed by Falcon Punches. The last few non-tournament challenges (which by themselves are pretty basic for obvious reasons) I've seen were of the "beat Blues with swords", "imitate LinkNavi's attacks" and stuff of the sort. When I was taking challenges, some dude tried to shove two Link Navi boss rushes IN A ROW. djangods, was he called. I really forget what he did, but he got banned. Annoying he was.
I'm straying off. I'll stop now.
