This was a game that was pretty popular on an old forum I used to go to. Baisically, it's a "who would win? Navi A or Navi B?" thread. Name two navis, and use a logical argument to back up who you think would win out of the two. There are, however, a few rules:
1. You can not name a battle in which it can be re-enacted on a game. Because of this, battles like Junkman vs. Woodman, Shadowman vs. Cosmoman, and Heatman vs. Judgeman can not be used. This already outlaws Megaman from being one of the navis.
2. Ring and Turboman only have one attack, so they are outlawed as well.
3. Battle style. Are you comparing the navis from their battle style in the games, or using the anime and manga as reference? Navis from Network Transmission must be argued for in the Anime style, since the Game style can not be done.
4. Neither side has battle chips, unless it is included in the navis' attacks (such as Area Grab for Flashman, or Stone Cube for Conoel).
5. Many navis cross over into other games. Make sure if you're using the Game style that you note all versions of the navi you're choosing. If you only wish to focus on one battle pattern (Tomahawkman with the eagle instead of the Totem-sama), please note it.
6. HP matter not here. Just state who you think has better control of the fight.
7. Each battle match up can last up to five pages. No more. Minimum is 3 posts. No less.
Alright let's kick things off with:
Kingman vs. Shademan (BN5)
Game style
In BN4 style, Shademan would defeat Kingman easily, seeing as he can either be destroyed by only Darkchips or he splits up into bats every time you hit him. In BN5, he's more forgiving, but how much more?
Kingman's style in the game is that he sits in the back row and lets his peices do all the work. He has a very heavy defense net, with Pawns taking up two spaces and Knights bouncing about. He occationally comes out to do his Checkmate Jump, which might leave in vunerable for a short period of time. He also has his Plan B attack, which would lessen Shademan's space to manuver.
That would mean that Kingman would win without a scratch, if Shademan couldn't go onto your side of the field. Shademan can easily get past the defenses, and use his Noise Crush or his claw swipe on Kingman, with no fear of a counter attack. However, his bats and his vampire bite can't hit his opponant, since Kingman can't get hit from behind unless he's doing the Checkmate Jump, and the pawns would just block the bats. Shademan might last for a little while, seeing as the Knight might have difficulty keeping up, but at the end of the day, I think Kingman would outlive Shademan, seeing the Darkloid's more devistating attacks can't reach the mighty king.
Winner: Kingman
So, rebuttles? And be sure to think up some more interesting matches.
Let the battles begin!

Cosmoman vs Laserman
Laserman has super armor, which prevents his attacks from being inturuppted, which means if he hits with his cross laser, and activates his dark laser, he is possibly invincible, with his super armor and all. Plus, his dark laser heals him. and laserman's movement is random, cosmoman might not be able to hit him. Winner: Laserman.

Uh, Smashbrosfan, a couple of problems.
1. I can tell you're using game style, but be sure to note that.
2. Try not to form a new match up right after one has been posted. That will be harder to rebuttle.
3. Not a very good argument.
Now, for my rebuttle on Cosmoman vs. Laserman
Let's take a look at Laserman first. He does have a lot of attacks, that's a given. However, his attacks don't come one after the other, like Shademan. From my expereince, he moves around the field at least three times before attacking. Also, he doesn't use the Dark Laser until he's in serious trouble, and needs a health boost. Other than that, his attacks are pretty limited and predicatable. The only thing that Cosmoman would have to worry about are the falling rocks.
Cosmoman actually is pretty similar to Laserman, except I think he has more of an advantage. Using his rings, he can hit Laserman while he's in the middle of an attack. His Cosmo Planet also can be troublesome, because it's very hard for Laserman's attacks to counter them. Also, don't forget that cosmic shiled of his. Cosmoman only brings it up once per fight, but if he uses it to block one of Laserman's dim screen lasers, he's pretty much golden. Not to mention while he's doing the Cosmo Prison, he's invinsable.
So, it might last a while, but in the end, I believe Cosmoman would delete Laserman, even if the Dark Laser was used.

Hmmm.... I don't know which one to argue with. I'll just do both.
KingMan vs. ShadeMan (BN5) Well, KingMan DOES have field advantage, Sights, with having Plan-B and all, and his Pawns and annoying Knights, (which are useless against ShadeMan cause he loves to move,) but ShadeMan has the ability that I like to call "Field Invasion." (That's when a Navi goes on your side.) ShadeMan can easily penetrate KingMan's defensed, and then use wither NoiseCrush OR his swipe attack.
Also, with the bats, KingMan's Pawns follow the opponent. If ShadeMan moves so the Pawns open up, the bats get through, and KingMan's a sitting duck. I'm not sure, but I think his NoiseCrush might have breaking characteristics to temporarily break the Pawns.
Sorry, but I gotta put my money on ShadeMan on this one.
CosmoMan vs. LaserMan[/u] I have to agree with Sights on this. While LaserMan has tank attributes, he's pretty predictable. CosmoMan can use the CosmoRing attack tohis a decent portion of LaserMan's field, and that "Saturn-esque" attack with the stuff coming at you with the rings is hard to avoid if you can't hit well infront of you well.
And CosmoPrism = CosmoMan being invincible + incredibly hard to avoid.
MY money's on CosmoMan.

Thing is, Shademan goes in front of the enemy navi when using the claws or the Noise Crush, so he can't break the pawns that way. However, I do see where you're coming from. In theory, the only ways for Kingman to avoid the bats is to either have his pawns block them, or, if they do get through, use the Checkmate Jump to avoid them. Since he rarely uses the Checkmate Jump (I never saw him use it in any of the challenges involoving him), Shademan has a better chance of winning than I origionally thought.

Sorry, I kinda didn't read right, sorry. Anyways, I agree Light on this one. Shademan will beat Kingman because A)he does leap in front of the enemy to attack. B)If you're using his BN4 version he has his claw attack, the purple one that pops up in your area.
Edit: I've never been good at arguing, so this might not be for me.

kingman VS Shademan (BN5) ------------------------------------- SURE kingman is pretty much invincible when he has his pawns out, but, shademan could render that moot for the fact he could go one square up from kingman and slash at him and COULD use his bat minions to try to break through Knightman's defences, but he is pretty much invincible with his pieces and such. i have to go with Kingman on this one.
CosmoMan vs. LaserMan -------------------------------- i HAVE to go with Laserman on this one, because if Cosmoman doesn't use his specal attack that makes him invincible, but Laserman can just as easly go and use one of his darkhole's to render the damage Cosmoman equal and keep his HP high, he has his other attacks and those crak pannels for the most part and let's not forget his laser attack that freezes time and does a BUTT load of damage. Laserman>Cosmoman

Oooo, that's interesting. =)
Kingman vs. Shademan (BN5) LE, remember StepSword? It also has this "invasion" effect. But remember, it is blocked by obstacles, so Noise Crush and his claw slash would only work if Shademan is not facing the pawns of Kingman. Kingman changes his position after some times you face him in the same line (I call it castling, dunno why =P). As Shademan moves around a lot it probably will be hard for him to get the pawns into the right place (leaving the line where Kingman stands free) AND attacking Kingman fast enough so the pawns won't come back fast enough. Though it probably will be hard for Kingman to hit Shademan, so this battle is pretty even. A slow defensive monster and a fast speedster who needs to get through this defensive and will hardly be hit by Kingman's attacks. I probably would go for Shademan.
Cosmoman vs. Laserman[/u] This also is pretty even, as both have a similar fighting style and both have their advantages. Cosmoman has his fast and hardly avoidable attacks (Cosmo Prism, also Cosmo Planet and Cosmic Shield), as Laserman is pretty slow. Cosmo Ring does fill four panels of the field, so Laserman probably will be hit. Then again Laserman is a pretty strong beast. His attacks do a lot of damage and his Superarmor prevents him from being flinched. His Plasma Disruptor is pretty evil, but not too much, especially not for someone who likes to move so much as Cosmoman. Dark Laser... well, it does help him a bit, but Cosmoman's attack most likely will destroy the hole soon enough. Ceiling Breaker is the only thing Cosmoman really has to fear. Laserman is slower than Cosmoman, and he also needs to recover from his attacks more than Cosmoman. So we have the slow attack monster and the speedy again with the hardly avoidable attacks, especially if you're such a slowass. I would go for Cosmoman on this one.

As this one seemed to fall asleep (and I don't want that. I like this thread actually...), I'll do another battle. Okay, here goes:
Circusman vs. Darkman[/i] Gamestyle
Alright, this one is actually pretty nasty. Two of the most annoying Navis in the BN history: Circusman and Darkman. Both are incredibly strong and both can easily become victims of the other one.
Let's start with Circusman's advantages. His Happy Clap and his Lion-Through-Firering (I dunno the actual name) are attacking a whole line or a whole row. And they're hell fast. This can be a problem for Darkman, as he likes to stand a second before the next move. Also his Gloom Cage is pretty nasty. He can catch Darkman and punch him down to near death. If he hits, of course, which is most likely, as Darkman is slow in movement.
Darkman has also pretty good cards. He has his Bats, which will disrupt and flinch Circusman easily (as he only stays in the back row). His Shadow Blade also is fast enough to stop Circusman from attacking, as well as his Flame Tower and Killer Beam. The Ice Ray hits two lines, also making it hard for Circusman to survive. According to his defense, the attack of Darkman is a load better.
If I count two and two together, I would say Darkman will win, if he is able to stop Circusman from attacking before he uses Gloom Cage. SuperArmor is a great advantage here, and I think both will have a hard time, but I would go on Darkman on this one. Circusman is hardly moving, only in his beloved backrow. This makes him a good victim for the Bats, but also for other attacks. As Circusman is able to be flinched he also is able to be disrupted from his attacks. Circusman though has chances, as I said, it'll be a hard time for both Navis.

Well, lets see. CircusMan vs DarkMan Both are so annoying. Since CircusMan jumps only in his back row, all but Flame Tower attack may own him, if they are times good enough. And he flinches, which makes him easy victim of Black Wing. However, CircusMan's attacks are too fast to be avoided by DarkMan. And when he uses his Tent attack, DarkMan is screwed because of status change (Confuse/Blind). DarkMan's biggest weakness is his SLOWNESS. He moves about half of CircusMan speed. Still, his attacks are pretty accurate. And his defence is good, with Super Armour.
My bet - CircusMan. I repeat, once DarkMan is hit by Tent attack, he is screwed.

I'd have to go with Darkman on this one. Stun-lock>fast attacks. Blackwing and his other attacks would be able to stop Circusman's attacks before they could kill Darkman.

Things is, Darkman doesn't attack his opponant until they are on the same row. That can be a problem, since Circusman likes to move after at least one Happy Clap hits. Darkman might get some hits in with the Killer Beam, Ice Wave, and Black Wing, but it would be rare for Circusman to get hit with the Flame Tower. Also, Darkman's axe can't reach Circusman, because he stays in the back the whole time.
I'd say that as long as Darkman keeps using his Black Wing attack, he'll be able to hit Circusman all the time, but Circusman has a semi-guarenteed hit with all of his attacks. In the end, I'd say Circusman would outlive Darkman, but if the Black Wing is in effect for a good majority of the battle, probably not by much.

Really? I thought it always went behind the opponant. Well, it still doesn't mean he'll hit Circusman with it all the time. It's a pretty slow attack.
Anyway, here's another battle to consider:
Needleman vs. Junkman
Anime style
Let's look at each navi indivicually first. In the anime, Junkman only appears in three episodes, and in the last one, it was an alternate form of him. Still, he was a force to be reckoned with. He still had his screw buster and Junk Press, but I don't recall him having the Poltergiest. Instead, he'd summon stone cubes (which he called Junk Cubes) at will anywhere he wished.
Needleman was more developed in the anime than in the game. He started out as a reccuring villian, but later became an ally in Stream. He also had a wider variety of attacks. He kept his Needle Cannon, and also had some called the Needle Attack (this attack varies per episode, but it mainly involves Needleman ramming an opponant with his sharp head). He also grew a needle out of his buster arm which became a lance-like sword (I call it the Tetnis Sword).
Now, how did Megaman defeat Junkman in the anime? He dodged the Junk Press, ran up the arm towards Junkman, used the Custom Sword, and slices through Junkman's Junk Cubes, which he brought up for protection. I'm not sure if the Tenis Sword is as strong as a Custom Sword, but Needleman did have a lot of speed, while Junkman opted to stay in one place during combat. Because of this, Needleman would easily weave around the screws and the Junk Press, and get some good hits in with the Needle Attack and Tetnis Sword. The only thing Needleman has to worry about is Junk Cubes forming over his head and falling from the sky. However, this threat is minimal compared to the damage he can deal to Junkman.
Winner: Needleman

[glow=red,2,300]Freezeman VS Coldman[/glow]
Game Style
As much as I like Freezeman, I must admit Coldman pwns him thoroughly. Since Freezeman does not move, he's easy target for Coldman's Ice Cubes and mist clouds, and his ice barrier is useless against Coldman's stomp attack.
Now, about Freezeman's attacks, they're easy to dodge if you're in constant movement, something Coldman does not do, but his jump and stomp attack makes up for it.
Winner: Coldman
