Some of us have played the first game, either on the DS or Wii (I played both versions) The ''sequel'' which takes place in Vancouver, is due to be released October 13th in NA, October 14th in Europe/Japan and October 16th virtually everywhere else.
The first one was short, at least to complete the main part of the game. (Getting every reward is close to impossible, even I never got them all) But it was very epic, and addicting (Especially when you can post your score on the Internet, it's cool to try to become the best =D)
I want to ask you your opinion on what you saw (trailers, ads and stuff like that) Personnaly, it looks better than the first one. The graphics on the DS version looks MUCH better than it's predecessor, and apparently there will be more events (there were only 20 events in the Wii version, and 16 in the DS version of the first games, barring the ''dream events'' in which case both have 24 events total) There will also be 4 new characters (They added DK and Bowser Jr. on Mario's side, and Silver/Metal Sonic on Sonic's side) The Wii version will be compatible with the Wii Balance Board ( Funny eh? The new Wiifit has been/will shortly be released)
Personally as a Hardcore fan of the first game, I will preorder both versions of the game this thursday (when I have the money to do so) Expect some review from my part (I found back my Video Capture device, so I'll have little trouble recording =D)
EDIT: Forgot to mention, this is pretty irrevelant, but unlike the first game, M&S at the Olympic Winter games, each version has a different box picture, and I think the DS version's looks nicer

Out of the two, I'd get the DS version. From what I've seen/read, it has a bit more of an RPG element to it. And I like RPG's. A LOT! And as tempting the Wii version seems, the DS would be more suited for me.

For those who have a DS, a Wii and the Nintendo Channel, You can download a Demo of the DS version, it include only one events, and only Mario and Sonic are avilable as characters, but you can still get an idea of what the DS version will look like. And so far, it looks better than the first one.

To be really honest I played the game once at a friends and I really didn't like it personally. Not my cup of tea so I won't be getting it for either games.

I bough the DS Version yesterday. While it's not as good as the first game (or maybe I'm just not used to it yet) It's very good. The story mode (which replace the mission mode I dind't like) is very cool! Music is also very good... but it doesn't have this epic feeling the first game gave me. Still, a very enjoyable game ^^
