...say that Meta Knight is broken or Snake is top tier? Wait. Don't answer that. I honestly think everybody is being too busy using WTFH4X evasion on things like Pit's arrows to care about intelligence. Really, does anybody remember any projectiles in the original SSB, or even Melee, being anywhere near as abusive as Pit's arrows? Including Ness's or Samus's. And Fox in the original SSB already got a reflector for everything not resembling a Bob-Omb. Fox's own Blaster wasn't even near as abusive and THAT got revamped into being rapid-fire but not causing flinching.
My point is, Pit belongs in higher tiers more than Snake, who merely evokes a battle of strategizing. Meta Knight is easy to pick up, but there's no way he's broken like people think. For this issue, I issued a challenge to a few people to use Pit, no B moves, to battle 2 Meta Knights simultaneously. You get a CPU ally, but it's a level 7 Olimar and the AI doesn't have the sense to isolate one of the Meta Knights, which makes MK's 3 major weaknesses harder to exploit. There's also a Co-Op version, but in that both players must use Pit, again no B moves, and the handicaps are higher. I issued the challenge to a few people, but it's been a day and no response yet.
Anyway, it's ridiculous people could push for a ban on Meta Knight. I accomplished the challenge on the hard difficulty I have around (also twice off screen), and my reaction time isn't even brag-worthy. Oh, before somebody brings up that I'm saying that's why Pit's arrows rip me up, no, I shouldn't need ridiculous speed to beat a projectile that has fewer drawbacks than other character's projectiles. If that causes Pit's melee range to be awful, that's a result of bad balance: look at G&W's AI. It uses Chef of all things and yet if you try to work with the same conditions except replace the Meta Knights with G&Ws, the G&Ws can kill you in a single blow with certain attacks. That's not the least bit fair. Meta Knight doesn't kill you in a single blow either. Ah, but Meta Knight has a good moveset. Oh, wait. He was actually balanced in a solid manner. Made a little easy to use perhaps, but it's not like he's unbeatable.
