Well, I'm already not that good in Pokemon (the regular/Stadium/Shadow series) And today, out of sheer randomness (and growing addiction for dungeon crawler games) I bough Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. The thing is: I know nothing about this game's system, save for the battle system. How do I make pokemon Evolves? How can I recruit more pokemons? Can any pokemon found in the Wild be recruited? If you can answer any of these questions, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in Advance

1) Beat game. Srsly. Beat sidequest and recruit Palkia and Dialga to evolve starters. 2) Beat them up. Some will offer to join you. In some dungeons, they won't offer to join no matter what. Most of the time if it's because of it being a storyline mission or a one-time only dungeon. In addition, you cannot recruit anything in the first dungeon. 3) Some are easier than others, but yeah, every last pokemon can be recruited in one or other place. Kecleon is almost impossible to recruit, though.

WHAT? So I can't evolve my starter before post-game? That sucks!

Uhh. this is why you should play the first dungeon game. It's very strait forward, while this one has a... flimsy story in comparison. Also, that one could be said as easier (about 10% less difficulty, but those games aren't too hard anyway).

Yes it does stink and to be honest, by the time you get to evolving it isn't even worth the trouble. @mma: The first dungeon game makes: 1. Recruiting hard 2. Getting your team memebers ready annoying. I mean seriously you have to BUY a friend area >_>. Then you can recruit and you have to run round searching for the pokemon you want in that area.
Anyway mystery dungeon is fun, a very gripping story. Oh and Areshi if you need rescueing i'll be happy to help just PM me.

Kecleon is almost impossible to recruit, though. A few things you've got wrong/missed here... 1) Dialga isn't required (IMO he is useless!), to Evolve regular poke'mon you must unlock Luminous spring (place of Evolution) by beating the Grand master of all things bad! Starters require Palkia, Marine resort and the story completed. 2) Unless you are fighting a dungeon Boss with a certain recruitment rate (e.g. Dialga), your Leader must land the killing blow. In the original game you were told how recruitment works and allowed to buy friend areas, the less you had the less you could recruit. Now, everything you kill wants to join your team. 3) Dungeon bosses sometimes (not all the bosses e.g. Rayquaza) have a certain recruitment rate. Kecleon requires in the first game for you to have a friend bow, level 100 and Lucario rank, then you have a 0.01 rectuitment rate. In this game you get the golden mask which is more effective, even then I don't beleive Kecleon is worth it. Also, friend bows, wondermail dungeon items, the golden mask, your leader's level and your team rank effect the chance of recruitment.
