I remember this one show that I had on VHS. It was cool. Virtual worlds, giant robots, and surprisingly not some sort of Power Rangers rip-off. You mean.... VR! VIRTUAL REALITY! TROOPERS! VR! TROOPERS! I watched that show. It had a Japanese guy on a computer who talked to them, and the main villain owned iguanas.... *reminisces* Molletman: Ummm... Megas XLR is hardly nostalgia. it was on, what, 4, 5 years ago? XD 4 or 5 years? Nah not that long, I have seen every episode though, I would be VERY happy if they made a new lot of them ^^.

hHere are the full episodes of ''les Zigotos'' I was talking about First episode I'm gonna show you, part 1 uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uOoymp9iPBEIn this first part The first game played is called ''Les Évadé en Cavale'' (The prison evaders). The rules are simple: Take a flag, climb the wall, bring the flag to the pole on the other side of the wall, get back to take another flag, and repeat until completed. When you're done, you have to raise the flags, meaning that if you put the lest flag when there's 2 second remaining, you still fail. In fact, the team failed this game (Meaning you'll get to see the ''Cabastrophe''. The second team plays a better looking ''Cible du Donjon'' which I gave you the rule earlier. They fail too, but the video cuts before they get to the Cabastrophe. First episode, part 2 uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bvbcCxh7b2o&feature=relatedThe video starts with the second team heading to the cabastrophe The third team plays ''La gage a balons'' (The cage 'o' baloons) Where the team must enter the cage to make all the baloon explodes! They succeed, but fails the second mini-game >_> Episode 1 part 3 uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OlpY4goLYKs&feature=relatedThe fourth team Plays the ''Larigozigotorus'' Where they must dig 6 holes to find a fake fossil and they must complete it. They unfortunately fails. Episode 2 part 1 The first team plays ''La porte de la jungle'' (Door to the jungle) Each teamate must, turn-by-turn, ''cross'' the fake river to untie slowly the ropes blocking the door. To successfully complete this game, all three must cross the door. They fails and are headed to the Cabastrophe. Episode 2 part 2 uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vIXwY6te794&feature=relatedThe second team plays 'Sauver les molecules'' (Saving the molecules) The team take a key that unlock a case. They must find the right case to unlocl a molecule. When they do, they put it in a tube and pick another key. There are 9 molecule to ''save'' They succeed, and even succeed the second game, meaning they get a gold medal! The third team have one of the worst game, which I don't even remember the name, but the team must cross a small bridge, pik a coconut slice and get back to the place where they must complete the coconut. The video cuts before the end of the game Episode 3 part 3 uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LfFh9_pwblc&feature=relatedThe third team fails the game... The fourth team Plays ''La vente de garage'' (The flea market) This game is the same as the Bascule a cube, but there are no kids on the scale, there's a fake door sometime hindering the team, and the object are much heavier. They fail, but BARELY... Seriously, I wished I was on the team that played the Cible du donjon ;-;

These Task Force shows are no longer what they used to be...

Can you say "Power Rangers Rip-off"?

Ryukendo? Hell no it's not...
For one, from what I know, the JP versions of Power Rangers don't even have battle-izers (which, IMO suck so badly).
Next, Ryukendo doesn't even have super-special-awesome-uber-giant-fighting-robots... I notice now that Super Sentai ripped that off from Ultraman.
Last, Ryukendo barely has any traits of Super-Sentai (if ever, the only trait they have is that they're literally a "Task Force" and the fact that "henshin" is involved). That means it's way better in some aspects outside of battles; story for one. Super-Sentai has too generic a storyline for it to stay crisp all these years and frankly, it's getting kinda old.
Now that you mention it, Ryukendo's actually more of a rip-off of Masked Rider... it's like Masked Rider's lighter more childish side seeing as Masked Rider's overflowing with EMOness (especially Ryuki and Faiz).

A show I used to like, which is in that mass noltagia video ahead: Sonic Underground. I used to love that show, and I beleive it's the best Sonic show ever made. I wans't fond of the first series, and Sonic X IMO straight sucks.

(Exceedingly long post, brought to you by Geezeraid, the drink of Generation X) Oh, hell... I'm the oldest member on this board right now aren't I? I never really thought of what that ment, to be honest, but it does mean that I got to live throught parts of the 80's and early 90's that wasn't experienced by most of you. As for television, late 80's early 90's was prime saterday morning fare. There is not a cartoon today that I can not beat with a cooler show from my youth. Starting at the basics you have your puppet based edutainment, Eureeka's Castle had to be one of my most memorable. Others included things like Fraggle Rock, Reading Rainbow*, and The Letter People. Other puppet based delights continue on with Alf reruns, and Muppet Theatre.. From there you have "Live action" shows. Earliest I can remember is Mr. Wizard's World**. I started to get into shows like Salute Your Shorts, Doogie Howser M.D., Quantum Leap, and The Wonder Years. I stayed clear of teen drama's like Beverly Hills, 90210 (Though I grew up with two sisters, so shows like Clueless and Sabrina: the Teenage Witch still where sat through). I guess, Boy Meets World might count too. Thinking of that, I did watch a lot of the SNICK line-up (The Secret World of Alex Mack, Clarissa Explains It All, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Ren & Stimpy) Problem is with naming what I remember of 80's live action, most of the rememberable 80's shows like Family Ties, Saved by the Bell, Roseanne, Married...with Children, and Full House, never quite went away did they? I don't think I can count them if they're still on-air. Other shows like Who's the Boss, Coach, and MacGyver retired peacefully, and I can hang with them in Florida. Mystery Science Theatre 3000, and Max Headroom started a cult following, and is in hiding. Cartoons is a diffrent animal all together, as it's hard to pinpoint exactly what I watched when anymore. I watched a lot of Nick, and when the Disney Channel started to be rather active in the 80's I know I watched it. Then, Oh yah, USA Cartoon Express. Man, remember when USA was cool? Then of course there's what my generation was really known for, the MTV era, and it's Oddities cartoon block. Cartoons have definately changed, but the ones I remember religiously watching was... - Super Mario Brothers Super Show ( I can still, to this day, "Do the Mario***"),
- Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Silverhawks
- Chip and Dale,Rescue Rangers
- Tail Spin(I got the complete box set for this)
- Darkwing Duck (and this...)
- The Real Ghostbusters
- Inspector Gadget
- Smurfs****
- Barnyard Commandoes
- Adventures of the Gummi Bears
- Heathcliff (Garfeild, if he was badass)
- Beetlejuice
- Jem and the Holograms
- Captain N:The Game Master(Somewhere in storage I have the Captain N jacket)
- The Wuzzles
- X-men (the 1989 series)
- Count Duckula (Aw man, Count Duckula had an AWESOME intro! www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnCpMHKCasU)
- Teddy Ruxpin ( I actually got the complete collection for this, too)
- Dangermouse(Also from Thames, like Count Duckula, and also f**k**g awesome.)
- Galaxy High (Lloyd in Space, but better. MUCH better)
- Camp Candy (God Rest John Candy, I hope he's drinking beers with George Carlin)
- Captain Caveman (CAPTAIN CAAAAAAAAAAVVVEEEMAAAAAAN!)
Early 90's also seemed to be great for cartoons as well. I dunno, the 80's had some of the best sit down and watch an episode cartoons you can get, but when actual serial storytelling took place, the 90's got you excited about a whole series. - Pirates of Dark Water
- Eek! The Cat
- Animaniacs
- Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM, the only Sonic cartoon I'm accepting as real.)
- Captain Planet and the Planeteers (What? I like Captain Planet...)
- Tiny Toons Adventures
- Bobby's World (back when Howie Mandel was funny, and on drugs)
- Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
- Reboot (I'm counting this, for the restart they're doing no don't count. I don't hear you, la la la)
- Gargoyles
- Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys ( I would kill you, and everyone you love for a box set.)
- The Magic School Bus
- Beast Wars: Transformers
- The Tick
- Batman: The Animated Series ( Best batman series, by the way. I would so want to hear Tim Curry's adaptation of the Joker though)
- Goof Troop
- Street Sharks*****
- Mighty Max
- Bonkers
- Bucky O' Hare and the Toad Wars
- Life with Louie
- Duckman
- Sam and Max: Freelance Police
- Ronin Warriors (The toys for these things was excellent! The spring loaded articulation, numberous peics of armor and weapons made them great action figures.)
(Honorable mention to such like Recess, Dexter's laboratory, Johnny Bravo, and Courage the Cowardly Dog, but unfortunately they where either to new, or not entirely dead) Beavis & Butthead will probably be what our generation's famous for, and though it stings, I guess I do remember sitting on the couch in a pair of acid washed jeans watching it. But come on, 1991-1997 was MTV's hey-day, and I watched liquid oddities daily (The Maxx, Æon Flux, The Head, The Brothers Grunt******,Daria..) As for other things you've missed... Creepy Crawlers, Die case transformers, Incredible Crash Dummies, A black Micheal Jackson, Boomboxes, and Skip-its. *- This was a toss-up, as I could have also put down "CBS Storybreak" a kick ass 80's collection of story shorts hosted by none other the Captain Kangaroo, then by my favorite "O.G. Readmore" **- Mr. Wizard's World is one of the few shows I can't name as cooler then Bill Nye the Science Guy or Beakman's World, sorry but Bill Nye was a badass. ***-"Swing your arms from side to side. Come on everybody, do the mario!" ****- Could have also put down the Snorks *****-Could have also put down Battletoads, SWATkats, Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa, or many, many other antromorphic superhero teams. ******- You'd be suprized if you ever see an episode of The Brothers Grunt (Fat chance) to know it was created by Danny Antonucci (Ed,Edd, and Eddy creator). It was also so t.v. unfriendly it never got re-aired.

Oh man. Ohmanohmanhmanohman. I used to be freaking religiously watching the Super Mario Brothers Super Show and Samurai Pizza Cats back when they aired... now all I ever watch on TV is the Comedy Network. =P Animaniacs, Street Sharks, the TMNT movie... But I think the biggest impact for me was the old games. I never had an Atari, and I never strayed from my Nintendo fanism. (Not fanboy, but not "oh I'll play anything because I'm rich and can afford it all") Sometimes I still turn back around and blow in those old NES carts to play them a bit more, but usually nowadays (because I'm a nerd) I go straight to emulation. It still gives the nostalgic experience, though.
[glow=green,2,300]*line break*[/glow] I still remember the first time I played Super Mario Bros 1... I walked right into the first goomba like most four-year-olds. After a few tries I figured out how to jump, and considered myself a freaking genius. My older brother was always first player, because he demanded it, and now I like being second. Sometimes I lead, sometimes I follow... but I'm getting off track. Anyways, I grew from that, and eventually got good at video games, and now I can beat Super Mario World through the star warps in just under half an hour while still doing fancy tricks.
Speaking of Mario World, that was like, the third Mario game I liked, the second being Doki Doki Panic's US release. There's always been a grating hate of Mario 3 in my head. I'm not that bad at it, it just sucks, and it's come to the point of when it's used in hacks, for example the music is from SMB3, I immediately turn off the volume of my emulator and turn on WinAMP for Emerald Sword or something. I don't go so far as to re-hack the graphics back to the original Mario GFX, because when it goes so far as that I usually just turn off the game.
And now I'm ranting.
Anyways again, I'm 16 years old, grew up with video games, started when I was four, always second, yadda yadda yadda. There's my life story minus school. Hope you enjoyed my post. It hasn't been a week yet, so it's not a bump in my eyes.

I used to Watch teddy Ruxpin a LOT too! THat and the Smurphs. Most of the early 90 cartoon sucked. I hated the Animaniacs and Tiny Toons. I Religiously watched Reboot too. Even when I was grounded from TV, my mom let me watch that (at the cost of one more day of grounding, which wasn't bad att all concidering the show was once a week here)

I can't list all the shows I remember. Because, I DON'T remember most of them! My memory is like an old mans, but i've devoted the whole summer to repairing it (85% of the way there). This thread reminded me of all the shows I watched, the end of my little kid years was actually pretty much around 2004. I saw about 90% of the cartoons, and most shows said already. It ended with Rorouni Kenshin, Megas XLR (best show in the known universe), and... *memory elapse* damn! OH, Yu Yu Hakusho if im right!

Now that Oldmannodox started talking about Street Sharks, I'll start giving a bit of info on my battered childhood.
I was lucky enough to see Street Sharks (most likely rerun) for a few months.
Other definitely old cartoons I used to watch were:
* Merrie Melodies (old Looney Tunes block) * Old version of Woody Woodpecker * Casper * Popeye the Sailor * Old version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles * The already mentioned Street Sharks * Dragon Ball/Z/GT * Samurai Pizza Cats
God... Dragon Ball and Z were practically my childhood. My first anime was no doubt Dragon Ball. My first videogame was Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension. When I was about to move on into early prepubescence, GT popped up for the nostalgia.
And about live action TV shows, most of them were 100% Mexican.
* In Family with Chabelo * El Chapulin Colorado/The Crimson Chapulin * El Chavo del 8/The 8's Brat (lame attempt to translate) * Chespirito * Atinale al Precio/Aim to the Price * 100 Mexicanos Dijeron/100 Mexicans Said
Chabelo I talked about in a previous post.
Crimson Chapulin, 8's Brat and Chespirito were made by the same man, Chespirito. The show called simply "Chespirito" contained little white humor sketches made by him, most following a few themes and characters, like Dr. Chapatin (M.D. Quack), two burglars, two funny madmen, and sometimes cameos from the Chapulin and 8's Brat.
Aim to the Price and 100 Mexicans Said were TV contests.
Aim to the Price consisted simply on showing a household product to the contestant and have him/her guess its price, with the main guy simply saying "higher" or "lower". If the contestant succeeded, he/she got the product, along with various other goodies.
100 Mexicans Said was a family-based contest. 5 members of the same family formed a team. 2 teams faced off. Several polls were made beforehand about certain themes (what do you do before eating meat, most common fruit, etc.) to 100 Mexicans. The contestants had to guess all the answers to the poll (or at least the most common) to win points. Obviously, whoever had more points at the end, won.
A thing about Mexican contest shows was that there ALWAYS was a consolation price. We Mexicans are like that. : p

Hell, I'm fourteen, but I got some good memories about the times.
Out of all the cartoons that were posted there, these are the one I used to watch every day, starting with the Spielberg Three:
Freakazoid!- Seriously though. I'm kind of disappointed in you guys for not putting this on any lists. Anyway, I'll never really forget Freakazoid. I mean, the title sequence song was so catchy. I remember when I was like four and I would whistle the song.
Animaniacs- Oh man. Animaniacs was an awesome show. I had the game for the Sega Genesis too, and my favorite was the Space Set. I remember I got through the intial four sets and forgot to save. v_v
Pinky and the Brain- No comment. Ya'll should know by now.
Now for others that spark good times:
Captain Planet- God, I used to wake up at 5 in the morning to watch Captain Planet. I was one hell of a fan. I have the first episode on VHS and the board game to it, too. I miss it, man.
Pokemon- The first season. Not that crappy 5+ season stuff. I remember my mom used to say that we wouldn't watch it until we were 7, like the rating said. And we watched it to no end. Until the end of Johto. Then it was crap. "Pokemon, Gotta Catch 'Em All!" Third season: "Catch the New Ones Now!" Fifth season: "We're running out of ideas. Here's 200 more Pokemon. Now leave us alone."
Samurai Jack- This show hauled ass. I never really got to see the ending, but I saw every other one up to, like, 7 episodes to the finale.
Ed, Edd, and Eddy- See, my mom hated this cartoon. Because of the way it was drawn. I, personally, loved the show to death. It was way up there in my "Had to Watch the New Episode on Friday" list. My favorite is, has, and always will be "2+2=Ed", the episode where they fiddled with reality.
And that's about it as far as cartoons go... I'll post more memories later.
