I've had an idea for an Abridged Series for a while now, but there are many problems that I've found out and run into while brainstorming ideas. First of all, when I've recorded my voice and played it back, it sounds almost nothing of what I thought it sounded. Secondly, most of the jokes I've had are video game related, especially to the Metal Gear Solid games. Thirdly, I don't have the proper recording equipment and video mixing stuff to make it look funny as it does sound funny. This may sound like a stupid idea, but I'm asking for some help to form an Abridged group of sorts and the Forum seems like a good place to ask since a lot of the CTers have recording equipment. If you want to help, just say so. I'll tell what we're Abridging after I get enough helpers.

Well i'll certainly help. Just i'm not sure whether I can do ANY voiceovers at all but I can record things with hypercam and my free trial of Sony Vegas will come in handy. (Once I figure out how it works)

I'd be happy to help. My voice is nice and low, but very flexible. I can even do girls. If you want proof, here's something I recorded, then sped up. www.mediafire.com/?vxomh9qe2dz

I wouldn't mind, really... as long as you don't plan to update every single week, then, yeah, I'm good. Sample: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3SRCa8duJ4Didn't really have any other way to sample my voice. Not to mention, my voice is kinda lame. Like some of those useless no-talent voiceactors on some Singaporean dubs like Crash B-Daman (Except for Jubei Sanada's voice actor! ^^ Yeah, I love it when that guy dubs.) or Yu-Gi-Oh! (Shadi's was the only one who didn't annoy the heck out of me every time he spoke. Kaiba's was good too. That guy really convinced me that I was watching the US dub.)... Seriously, some of those guys don't sound convincing and their puns aren't like some US dub puns.

I guess I might as well give vocals a shot. I've always wanted to try voice acting and it'll give me a good chance to break in my new microphone. If you watch my Guide videos, then you have a pretty good idea of what my voice sounds like, though I have a somewhat limited range outside the norm.
Speaking of sounds, I can cover for audio editing if you so need it so long as all the sounds are provided to me. I've got a fairly firm grasp of the workings of Audacity.

Ok Divine I can do voice acting but it will be very low quality as I will have to do it over someone else mic through pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

Woah, a lot of volunteers willing to Abridge, including Kay? Well then I can officially announce what the Abridged Series will be: InuYasha: The Abridged Series.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to update every week since as we all know Abridgers actually DO have lives. Just take a look at LK and his LiveJournal account.
Next up, voice acting. Until I get the proper recording equipment, I won't be doing voices along with you guys. However, I can tell you a general idea of what the Abridged character versions of characters sound like.
The script, however, I can do almost easily. However, like I said, a good chunk of the jokes are video game related so I'm going to need a fellow script writer.
Last up, mixing. ...Yeah... I wouldn't know how to mix videos if my very life depended on it. Since Naruto Abridged has MasakoX doing mixing, I figure someone on the forum has a near equal amount of talent.
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Criticisms are welcomely accepted.

Ok i'm not so sure what you mean by "mixing" however I may be able to help if you explain it to me, also i'm planning on buying some recording equipment so I may be able to do some voice overs too, however I have no idea when it will be.#
Anyway I know how to do EVERYTHING in WMM and have access temporarily to Sony Vegas.

I offer to be either Inuyasha or Miroku.
Or both. =D
If you have Skype, I can easily give you better samples of my voice, and even tune it to those two, to your liking.

Mixing for an Abridged Series is basically editing stuff in and out. Sort of what people do for various AMVs, except a little smoother, better looking, and humourous.
As for voices, I particularly don't care who's who so long as they do my Abridged version of their voice. You try to voice act it, and I'll judge who's best.

Hm, seems things are going good for you, however, with all this work you're doing, I don't think it would be wise to upload to Youtube. Your account is bound to be deleted sooner or later. Maybe it could be a CT forum exclusive? Upload it to a file sharing site or something of the sorts.
That's my 2 cents.

I know absolutely nothing about Inuyasha, but I'd be happy to voiceact in this. My only... Problem... Is that I have to use a camera for sound recording. Unless I can get my paws on an actual microphone, this may or may not be a problem. What you say, Divine?

First of all: the YouTube situation I've already got planned. I'll just make a back-up account with a new e-mail address and if that account gets deleted, I'll do what LK did and post the episodes on Revver and tell viewers to watch it there. If the Revver account gets deleted somehow, I'll go to Veoh like CanadianJutsu did and repeat the process.
As for your problem Furry, I'm okay with you voice acting tryout via camera but when comes to making actual videos, I think it's best to get a mic.

Alright, just give me some lines to go by via PM. I'll try out for Miroku or Inuyasha. (I have a pretty good Solid Snake imitation.)
Oh, and about what SerenadeDS said... I suggest Veoh, maybe? There's no file size limit and I don't think they delete vids due to copyright infringement there...
