I might use it to take challenges later.
AND NOW: A question.
I'm probably gonna buy BN4 to slot in for BN5DS. Which version do you think I should get? If I should even get BN4?

Urhm, well... Junk Soul+Search Soul+Wind Soul = Win. As well as HolyDream+Forte. Do we really need more?

Yeah, Blue Moon is better. HOwever, you might consider Red Sun too due to Wind, Roll and Search souls

Depends on what you want.
The most useful souls are in Red Sun (Search, Wind, Roll) while most of the Blue Moon souls are utterly crap or you already have them in BN5 DS (Blues, Number for latter, Wood and Aqua for first). MetalSoul is not THAT useful and JunkSoul only if you have an obstacle folder. There you can argue if ColonelSoul wouldn't be better because of its Charged Buster.
However, BN4 is the worst game in the series. The story is pretty lame (in comparison to the stories of the other games, which are at least kinda okay) and you have to play through the game 3 times to get all Souls and Omega Navis.

You should get BN 2 which is in my opinion, the best, and the most rewarding if you play BN5 Double Team (BN 2 Opens a really cheap SubChip shop, BN4 only gives you a list of P.A. and you gotta look for every Message board in the game to get the whole list... just go to GameFaqs) Also, BN2's remixed Normal Battle theme Kick asses, although BN4's pretty neat too

If you have BN5 then just use that. You can transfer your folder and stuff. If were talking about ass kicking themes, then get BN4.
And Syaro's comment.

.... Maybe I should just buy the entire series. ;_; That always works. If you just want them for the Slot-2 bonuses, though...just go with BN2 & BN5.

Well, if it was me, I'd pick BN1 over BN4 any day to pop into the bottom slot. But then again, I think BN1 had the best virus battle music in the series.
If I had absolutely no choice in the matter but to pick a BN4, though... I'd say Red Sun, if only for Search, Roll, and ThunderSouls, regular Bass, and HolyDream. I can't say anything about Blue Moon, but the Red Sun Soul Navis (except for GutsMan... ugh. WindMan's kinda pushing it, too) had relatively-tolerable scenarios.

Okay, here's what I can see from what everyone has posted:
BN1 has a good battle theme. BN2 gets 1/2 off subchips from slot-in and the remixed theme is nice. BN3 hasn't gotten any hype. Poor guy. BN4 has good remix music, but the general verdict is that it's the worst game in the series. Red Sun has alright scenarios/HolyDream and Search, Roll, Wind, Junk and Thunder souls, though I get Search soul in BN5 anyways; Blue Moon has Metal, Wood, Blues, and Aqua souls, though I get Blues soul in BN5 anyways. :/ BN5 gets you ForteCross. 'Nuff said. BN6 isn't a slot-in game. Osnap.

BN2 gets 1/2 off subchips from slot-in and the remixed theme is nice. It's actually lower than 1/2. It's more like reduced by 60% or something like that... :/ . Get your facts right. Junk Soul is in Blue Moon
